SRV05-4.TCT TVS protection diode.
The TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode is a special type of diode that is used to protect electronic circuits from voltage surges. These overvoltages can occur as a result of sudden changes in mains voltage, short-circuits, lightning, and also as a result of switching electrical circuits.
The TVS diode works on the principle of low electrical resistance at low voltage and a rapid increase in resistance when the voltage is increased above the breakdown voltage level (breakdown voltage). Thus, when the circuit voltage rises above the breakdown voltage level of the TVS diode, current flows through the diode and not through the protected electronic circuit. In this way, the TVS diode allows electronic circuits to be protected from damage caused by overvoltage.
The TVS diode is used in various applications where voltage surges occur, such as power supplies, transmission lines, communication interfaces, signal lines and many others.

High Voltage and Current – This component can operate at high voltages and currents, posing a risk of electric shock. Pay attention to the maximum voltage and current values, as well as appropriate markings indicating these limits.
Caution During Installation – Ensure that the components are correctly mounted in the circuit, as improper connections can lead to overheating, damage, or fire.
Hot Components – Electronic components may heat up during operation, so it is important to follow the recommendations regarding the maximum operating temperature. Appropriate heat sinks or cooling systems should be used to ensure effective heat dissipation. Caution should also be exercised to avoid burns.
Swallowing Hazard – Small fastening components, such as screws, nuts, or washers, can pose a choking or swallowing hazard, especially for children. They should be stored in a place out of reach of children.
Spreading of Small Components – These components can pose a tripping or loss hazard during work. They should be stored in containers that prevent spillage.
