I accept privacy policy rules

The 48Pro2 programmer offers the same functionality as the 48Pro+, but provides 20-75% higher programming speed for high-capacity memory chips.

The device is based on FPGA architecture and features 48 fully reconfigurable TTL drivers, supporting H/L, pull-up, pull-down modes and a read function for each ZIF socket pin. The advanced drivers generate high-quality signals, eliminating overshoot and ground bounce, ensuring stability for all supported ICs.

Supporting voltages from 1.8V, the programmer enables operation with the latest low-voltage chips.
Safety and diagnostics

  • Chip insertion and connection test before each programming operation
  • Byte signature verification and overload protection to minimise the risk of chip damage
  • Integrated self-diagnostics to verify correct operation of the programmer
  • Surge protection and ESD protection up to 15kV
  • Marginally verified power supply voltage levels during programming for increased durability of stored data

Supported IC housings

PLCC, JLCC, SOIC, SDIP, SOP, PSOP, SSOP, TSOP, TSOPII, TSSOP, QFP, PQFP, TQFP, VQFP, QFN (MLF), SON, BGA, EBGA, FBGA, VFBGA, UBGA, FTBGA, LAP, CSP, SCSP, LQFP, MQFP, HVQFN, QLP, QIP and others.

User interface

The Dataman 48Pro2 programmer is operated using an intuitive control program that offers:

  • drop-down menus,
  • keyboard shortcuts,
  • online help.

Device selection is based on:

  • device class,
  • manufacturer,
  • part of the manufacturer's name and/or part number.
The standard commands supported by the programmer are:

  • read,
  • checking empty memory,
  • programming,
  • verification,
  • erasing.
In addition, test functions are available such as:

  • test of correct chip insertion,
  • signature byte check,
  • special modes, e.g. auto-increment, production mode (programming starts automatically when the chip is inserted into the socket).
All common data formats are supported. The programme automatically recognises and converts the file format during loading.

The auto-increment function allows:

  • giving each programmed device a unique serial number,
  • reading serial numbers or circuit identifiers from a file.

The software also provides:

  • detailed information about the circuits to be programmed,
  • drawings of available enclosures,
  • explanations of circuit designations (prefixes and suffixes).
For in-system programming (ISP), information is available on:

  • description of ISP connector pins,
  • recommended connection design,
  • additional relevant data.
The programme supports remote control, allowing integration with other applications through:

  • commands in .BAT files,
  • DLL library (support in C, Pascal, Visual Basic, .NET).

Jam and VME file support

  • Jam files (JEDEC JESD-71) are interpreted by the Jam Player.
  • They are generated by the design software provided by the chip manufacturer.
  • They are programmed via a ZIF cradle or ISP connector (JTAG - IEEE 1149.1).
  • VME files (compressed version of SVF files) are interpreted by VME Player and contain operations for the JTAG bus.

The JTAG strings supported are:

  • JTAG (ISP-Jam, ISP-VME, ISP-SVF, ISP-STP) - programming and testing of multiple devices simultaneously.

It is possible to connect multiple Dataman 48Pro2 programmers to a single computer via USB, allowing you to:

  • create a powerful multi-channel system,
  • maintaining full programming speed,
  • simultaneous programming of multiple chips.
Software updates are free and always available on the Dataman website.
