Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Waste Batteries
As part of our environmental responsibilities and in accordance with the requirements applicable to the sale of electrical and electronic equipment, we provide the following information on the proper handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and accumulators.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of together with unsorted household waste. Equipment marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol should be handed over to an appropriate collection point.
Free collection of waste equipment when purchasing new equipment
When purchasing new electrical or electronic equipment, the customer may return waste equipment from a household free of charge, provided that:
- the waste equipment is of the same type as the equipment being purchased, and
- the waste equipment performed the same functions as the equipment being purchased.
For example, when purchasing a new power supply covered by WEEE regulations, the customer may return a used power supply of the same type that performed the same functions.
Collection of waste equipment at the place of delivery
When electrical or electronic equipment intended for households is delivered to the customer, the customer may return corresponding waste equipment free of charge at the place of delivery, provided that the waste equipment is of the same type and performed the same functions as the equipment being delivered.
If you wish to return waste equipment when your new equipment is delivered, please contact us before your order is dispatched so that the collection arrangements can be agreed.
Where can waste electrical and electronic equipment be returned?
Waste electrical and electronic equipment may be handed over, among others, to:
- municipal selective waste collection points (PSZOK in Poland),
- other authorised WEEE collection points,
- a retail outlet when purchasing new equipment of the same type and performing the same functions, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Information about the nearest WEEE collection points can be obtained from the website of the relevant municipality or local authority.
Why should electrical and electronic equipment not be disposed of with household waste?
Electrical and electronic equipment may contain materials and substances which, if handled incorrectly, may have an adverse effect on the environment or human health.
At the same time, many materials contained in waste electrical and electronic equipment can be reused or recycled.
Proper separation and delivery of WEEE to an appropriate collection point enables the equipment to be properly treated and valuable materials to be recovered.
Waste Batteries and Accumulators
Waste batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of together with unsorted household waste.
Waste batteries and accumulators should be collected separately and handed over to appropriate collection or take-back points.
Waste portable batteries and accumulators may be handed over, among others, to:
- designated battery collection points,
- municipal selective waste collection points (PSZOK in Poland),
- other authorised collection points in accordance with applicable regulations.
Batteries and accumulators should not be opened, dismantled, crushed or otherwise damaged. Particular care should be taken when handling damaged or swollen lithium batteries and accumulators.
Crossed-out Wheeled Bin Symbol
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol displayed on electrical or electronic equipment, batteries, accumulators or their packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of together with unsorted household waste at the end of its useful life.
Separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and accumulators helps reduce their environmental impact and enables valuable materials to be recovered and reused.
